A PROJECT UNITING EUROPE
The Brenner Base Tunnel (BBT) will not only provide a better connection between Innsbruck and Fortezza, but also between northern and southern Europe by eliminating the bottleneck at the Brenner Pass.
- The existing line is operating at full capacity and is no longer really suitable for modern freight transport due to its steep gradients and winding route.
- The new flat railway line will allow longer and heavier trains.
- There will be a significant reduction in travel times.
- A significant reduction in noise pollution.
- And increased safety from natural hazards.
